Confidential information? Not in Tower Hamlets!
Tower Hamlets Liberal Democrats today complained that confidential enquiries being made to Council officers were being shared with members of the majority Labour party.
Cllr Stephanie Eaton, Leader of the group commented "It is an absolute disgrace that enquiries made on behalf of local residents are being shared with other councillors without the consent of the resident or the member who asked the question. I have today lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Executive asking him to take immediate action to prevent this happening in future."
Cllr Eaton concluded: "The practice raises questions about the close relations between officers and members of the Labour group, and it gives the impression that officers are prepared to collude with the majority party".
