Liberal Democrat campaigner Richard Macmillan is working with residents to improve Lysander House during the construction job.
Liberal Democrat campaigners and Councillors in Bethnal Green North today condemned the delays, lack of information and poor security during the building work at Lysander House.
Richard Macmillan, a local Liberal Democrat campaigner said: "After speaking with the residents in Lysander House, it is clear that they are fed up with the mess, dust, noise and disruption from the works. They don't know when the work will be finished, or what will be done to clean up afterwards."
The works are part of an improvement project by Tower Hamlets Community Housing. Speaking of the work Councillor Stephanie Eaton commented: "There is a history of problems with anti-social behaviour in Lysander House and the building work has provided even more opportunity for problem kids to get onto the roof and in the stairwells. I have written to THCH asking for them to improve the security around the site, and to ensure that residents have some idea when the works will be finished."
Liberal Democrats will be checking to see if the situation improves over the coming weeks, and are working to ensure that the area in front of Lysander house is restored to provide a pleasant environment for the residents and their visitors.
