"Council does not deal with home repairs in time" say Libdems.
Wed 18th Jun 2008
Libdems today expressed their shock at the failure of the Council to respond in time to complaints made by residents about Council housing stock. Approximately 15,000 repair requests are logged each quarter but the Council is failing to respond to around 37% of complaints within the target of 10 working days. As well, the works are not being completed in a reasonable time. Technical services had 81% of their complaints upheld (at the second stage of complaint) mostly because of continuing delays in completing work.

Tower Hamlets Liberal Democrats condemn Government hit to the poorest
Tue 8th Apr 2008
Gordon Brown's decision to abolish the 10p rate of income tax has been attacked by Liberal Democrats across the country. Councillor Stephanie Eaton, Leader of the Lib Dem group on Tower Hamlets Council has condemned the changes saying: "We know how difficult it is for people earning low pay to survive, and these tax changes mean that it is even harder. The government should be ashamed of itself. Tower Hamlets has some of the poorest people in the country and recent tax changes will make many of them poorer."

20 weeks of noise at all hours! Libdems say why???
Mon 31st Mar 2008
Liberal Democrats on the Isle of Dogs are complaining about the Labour Council's decision to allow EDF energy and their contractors Nacap UK unlimited hours of work on residential streets. The work involves digging up roads using noisy hammer drills and is expected to continue for 20 weeks. Local resident and Councillor Stephanie Eaton said "The noise at 0830 on Saturday morning was unbearable. A number of local residents and visitors have complained about the early morning noise to me and I am shocked that the Council has not limited the hours of this work. If the company falls behind in its schedule there is nothing to stop them carrying on this work 24/7"
