The laying of a floral wreath and lighting of candles will signify the imminent loss of Old Bonner School at a Memorial Service on Monday evening. Everyone who cares about the loss of this historic building is invited to attend.

Tower Hamlets Cabinet confirmed their decision to demolish the Old Bonner School on October 4, against the wishes of hundreds of local people. Despite passionate speeches by Liberal Democrat Leader, Stephanie Eaton, and Councillors from other parties, the Labour Cabinet did not even consider the compromise option of retaining the single storey infant's wing as a reminder of the unique architecture of the site and a tribute to the thousands of people who have taught and been educated in the Old Bonner School.

While the building is still there, the campaigners will continue to press for consideration of the "compromise" proposal. If you wish to support the campaign please attend the memorial service on Monday or contact Cllr Stephanie Eaton on 07941 303 976.
