No tigers either!

In brilliant sunshine, the Friends of Arnold Circus today held their annual Carrom day. Carrom is a board game described as being a cross between tiddlywinks and snooker.

The event attracted families from around the area, and the St Hilda's womens group provided much needed refreshments of samosas and watermelon for the hungry players. For those who found the Carrom too exciting, there was also ping pong and the younger children had a great time making golden-legged spiders in the kids' corner.

Ward Cllr Louise Alexander, said "As always, the Friends of Arnold Circus have organised a great community event. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in the beautiful rotunda, and there was a friendly but highly competitive atmosphere around the Carrom games".

The rules of Carrom can be found at www.carrom.co.uk

No elephants were spotted in Arnold Circus.
