Tower Hamlets Liberal Democrats pay tribute to Menzies Campbell

7.36.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 15th Oct 2007

Menzies Campbell

The Rt Hon Sir Menzies Campbell MP

Menzies Campbell has led the Liberal Democrats with distinction and courage since March 2006. His solid and principled opposition to the Iraq war, and his appreciation of the importance of environmental issues to all facets of British politics have given our party a unique voice. He has earned the affection and respect of activists across the party and across the country. We are grateful to him for his service and the decisive way in which he has acted to resign the Leadership.

Statement by Cllr Dr Stephanie Eaton, Leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Tower Hamlets Council.
