Noisy hours of work should be limited say Libdems.

Liberal Democrats on the Isle of Dogs are complaining about the Labour Council's decision to allow EDF energy and their contractors Nacap UK unlimited hours of work on residential streets. The work involves digging up roads using noisy hammer drills and is expected to continue for 20 weeks. Local resident and Councillor Stephanie Eaton said "The noise at 0830 on Saturday morning was unbearable. A number of local residents and visitors have complained about the early morning noise to me and I am shocked that the Council has not limited the hours of this work. If the company falls behind in its schedule there is nothing to stop them carrying on this work 24/7"

Cllr Eaton has written to the Council asking why the hours of work cannot be restricted to enable local residents to be protected from the noise of the work continuing at all hours.
