No noisy working at night!

After raising the issue of 24/7 roadworks on the Isle of Dogs, EDF energy and NACAP UK have contacted Liberal Democrat Councillor Stephanie Eaton to admit to a "conflict of communication". NACAP UK have now assured Councillor Eaton that the noisy work will occur during limited time periods only.

Councillor Eaton wrote to the Council to ensure that residents were not subjected to drilling and roadworks at all hours of the day and night. Initially she was told by the Project manager, Jeff Adams, that the contractors had permission to do the work 24/7. Mr Adams has now stated that the work will only take place between the hours of 0800-1700 Monday to Friday 0800-1300 on Saturday and not at all on Sunday.

Cllr Eaton said "I am appalled that until I raised this matter the project manager had the impression that his teams could work through the night. It is clearly unacceptable for residents to have their rest disturbed and I am very grateful that NACAP have assured me that their teams are now fully aware of the limitation on their hours of work."
